COSMETIC FACIAL TREATMENTS

Previdente Dental Clinic offers Botulinum Toxin treatment (commonly known as Botox™) and hyaluronic acid fillers, non – permanent anti-aging cosmetic skin treatments to reduce existing lines and wrinkles. A reduction in the appearance of wrinkles will give the skin a youthful look.

BOTOX™ AND HYALURONIC ACID FILLERS

 

Botox™ (Botulinum Toxin)

Botox injections are noted primarily for the ability to reduce the appearance of some facial wrinkles. Injecting Botulinum Toxin is a minor procedure, achieved by superficial punctures with a fine needle. The botulinum toxin will dramatically improve (and often eliminate) horizontal forehead creases, scowl lines between your eyebrows, crow’s feet, and vertical wrinkles of your upper lip. Botulinum toxin is ineffective for fine wrinkles because they are not due to facial expression. It is also used to treat such problems as chronic migraine, repetitive neck spasms (cervical dystonia), excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis), overactive bladder, bruxism and lazy eye.

During treatment Botox™ is injected into the skin and starts working within 4 days. The full effect will be seen after approximately two weeks and a review appointment can be scheduled for 2 weeks after treatment occurred. The results of Botox™ treatment usually last for around 3-6 months. After this time you will need to arrange a further treatment.

Hyaluronic acid fillers

Hyaluronic acid is a substance that is naturally present in the human body. It is found in the highest concentrations in the eyes and joints. When we age, the amount of hyaluronic acid in our skin decrease, our cells lose its production capacity progressively. As we age the molecular weight of hyaluronic acid is lost, so we are unable of retain water in our skin. We can see this process when we pick our skin with the fingers. In young people the skin goes back to the original position quick, as we get older, the skin recovery takes longer. When Hyaluronic acid filler is injected, it acts like an inflated cushion to support facial structures and tissues that may have lost volume or elasticity due to normal aging. It also brings water to the surface of skin to keep it looking fresh and supple.

Hyaluronic acid suitable for the following procedures: Plump thin lips, soften facial creases and wrinkles egg. nasolabial folds and glabellar lines (between the eyebrows); and enhance shallow contours. How long the results last vary from 6 months to over a year or two, depending on the area filled and the type of skin.

 

Cosmetic Facial Treatments Consultation

You’ll be asked to attend an initial consultation where your background and medical history will be discussed, and photos taken. A treatment plan with a digital photo planning will then be set in place whereby Botox or Hyaluronic acid fillers, possibly in conjunction with other techniques, will be used to create the facial look that you want. At the treatment appointment, the areas to be filled will be marked out, injected, and cold packs applied immediately afterwards. Depending on the areas to be treated the whole process takes around 30-60 minutes. Local anaesthetic can be used, but isn’t always necessary for some patients

Patients with an allergy history, pregnancy, or breastfeeding should avoid such procedures.
