The pediatric dentist’s main purposes are to take care and preserve the child’s milk teeth that have important functions in the development of facial bones, maintain the space for permanent teeth not allowing the reduction of dental arch or dysfunction in the jaw joint, survey the development of speech and also the capacity of chewing.

This professional also teaches the child to realize the importance and fun when brushing their teeth, besides assisting and guiding parents giving important information about proper care of their child’s teeth.

PREVIDENTE PEDIATRIC DENTISTRY

Our Dentists provide comprehensive oral health care that includes the following:

• Infant oral health exams, which include risk assessment for caries, malocclusion and gums
• Repair of tooth cavities or defects
• Care for dental injuries (egg. Displaced, fractured, or knocked-out teeth)
• Early assessment and treatment for straightening teeth and correcting an improper bite (orthodontics)
• Preventive dental care including cleaning and fluoride treatments
• Habit and preventive counseling regarding nutrition and diet

 

YOUR CHILD’S FIRST DENTAL APPOINTMENT

The first dental visit is ideal to demystify their fears being a very important opportunity for your child to know the clinic and the dentist in in a non-threatening and friendly way.

This first contact will cause the child gain confidence and be at ease throughout the dental treatment. This first visit will reflect in the child’s behavior when visiting the dentist throughout his/her life.

During the examination, our dentist will check all of your child’s existing teeth for decay, examine your child’s bite, and look for any potential problems with the gums, jaw, and oral tissues.

Our dentist will also educate parents about oral health care basics for children and discuss dental developmental issues and answer any questions.

PREVIDENTE – PEDIATRIC WAITING ROOM

One of pediatric dentistry roles is to create a psychological relationship with the child based on trust, especially in a favorable environment in order to eliminate any panic from the dentist.

Keeping in mind that situation we created a pediatric waiting room. At Previdente we offer a safe place for your children with age-appropriate games, toys and projects.
Children will no longer be stressed and have tear smears on their faces before having their teeth checked.

CHILDREN TREATMENT ROOM

Previdente strives to make every child’s visit to the dentist an enjoyable one. We created an atmosphere of caring in our Children Treatment Room which allows our little patients to relax and feel special in a fun environment.
We implement creative methods in effort to treat the special needs of infants, children and teens, one smile at a time. Our philosophy is to not push children beyond their ability to cooperate, but rather apply techniques to gain their trust and establish a good relationship.

CONSCIOUS SEDATION

Conscious Sedation is recommended for apprehensive children, very young children, and children with special needs.
It is used to calm your child reducing anxiety and providing deep relaxation reducing fear and trauma associated with dental treatments.
Your child may be quite drowsy, and may even fall asleep, but they will not become unconscious.
